Nice image and the model is gorgeous, but, alas , the breasts do not look natural. |

This is a beautiful image !!! Well done and for the record, I can't see any of the distracting shadows.. It's just one of those things that show how much monitors differ..
PS. .I think you're crazy for being disappointed with how this scored.. You did very well considering there were over 600 photo's being viewed & scored.. Pat yourself on the back & carry on.. I look forward to seeing more from you. |

The yellow is stunning; the black and white is a bit grayed out/ the model, pose, composition, perfect. |

i think she would have to be in a much different position to see a tiny bit of vagina...... |

Heh.. I meant punching gamma up in the processing program. Although granted, I don't know how easy that is in other programs, but in Photoshop, you can do it with a slider.

This is a very engaging image. So much to look at and think about. I agree with skewsme - covering up the breasts and the pubic area would've added to it for me - made it more alluring. Even covering just the nipple on the bare breast would've had that effect. Much the same as how a good stripper will keep everything covered to make it more enticing until the finale.

Don't let the people who commented on the model bother you. A 5.8 is a perfectly fine score, and besides, many people voted much higher. You'll never please everyone, and nudes will always get hit by some people. Focus on the people you connected with - 4 favorites is a better indicator than a smattering of scores in the 1-3 range. |

Hi. Sorry this didn't do as well as you'd hoped. At least you didn't get dq'd for genitalia. Thank you for not taking my previous comment the wrong way ;-) I just came back to tell you that I find the look on the model's face really engaging. Her pose is defiant, yet subtly so. Regal perhaps. I enjoyed it very much. With all that going on, I imagine that if the sash had been positioned over the naughty bits, it might have been an even stronger shot. I hope you get a chance to use her as a model again. Good luck :) |

Just a note:
When you do processing/painting/spot work on a black background, it's a good idea to turn the gamma on your monitor way up, so that you can get as even a paint-job as possible to the widest range of monitors out there.
On my monitor, I can easily see where you've darkened the upper left corner and all around the front of your model. I don't know if this was to clone something out, or whatever, but the job is very noticeable. If you pump the gamma up, you can make sure that this work is evened out through the whole of the photograph, and leaves you less prone to those of us with brighter monitors. Granted, there aren't a lot of us, but I find that it helps even to the mid-range much of the time.
(oops.. sorry, I see now that you touched on this yourself. You can remember it for the future though.. gamma gamma gamma! :))

I'm saddened by the comments made about the models "attributes", like it's something you can control. Quite silly and unnecessary really. I agree that comments should be kept to the photograph and it's technicalities. It was a wonderful thing for this model to sit for you. But comments like those you recieved will really make me think thrice about subjecting a model to such scrutiny. I think the photo is lovely and if I had any nitpicks about it (other than the background problems you mentioned which I cannot see on my monitor) is that I would have liked to see her face a little sharper. :) |

Great composition and capture. I think that the comments should be made more on the photographers work rather than the model used. I am sure that the photography had no say in what size implants she chose.
Congratulations on a great image Sarcoman |

The model is a friend of mine, and a mother of two believe it or not.
The strange shadows in the background are left there in error, and can only be seen when yor monitor is really bright. That is the only thing I regret about the photo.
Any silicon that is in the photo is not somthing I can contol, so its unfortunate that some people felt it took away from the photo. Im not a professional photographer, and do not have access to a bevy of models (though i am working towards that :) Also, I hope that people where not offended by a nude image, if they were I would have preferred they skip voting on this image, rather than giving it a low rating.
I got this by using the colour select tool to select the yellow, inverting the selection, and desaturating the image using the channel mixer. The background is just black fabric i bought at a fabric store. Because there were different fabric types, i had to burn some of it in PS, and on my monitor it appeared fine. Only when i increased the brightness/contrast on my monitor did i see the shadows that i referred to earlier.
Although I am dissappionted with how the photo performed, I will take consolation in the fact that I had twice as many views during the competition as the winners... they clearly were the best photos, but being popular is nice too :)

Nice capture - Like the yellow - Not too sure how you edited this but on my screen you can see some sort of shadowing around the upper left and lower left hand side of the picture which is pretty distracting. |

a better draping of the yellow fabric possibly under the breast rather than on top would have not pointed out that she has implants or made her look like she has implants. Nice job overall though |

The color and line of the yellow scarf are very effective, as is the arm position. Great constrast with background, and great composition. 10 |
