In Florida, the land owners who have pastures for cattle like to burn the underbrush out of the woods every couple of years. This allows the animals and cattle access to the woods, and keeps the brush from building up until a fire would destroy all the trees and everything. After going crazy about fighting fires in the woods for many years, the local forestry service finally figured out that the old folks were right about this, so now it is encouraged. This was the evening after the actual fire, and this one hot spot was still burning, including a standing tree stump. That's the moon at the top. After seeing this on screen I decided that it was not good for the pic, but this was the best of the fire, so I entered it. I liked the sparks blowing off the tree standing, and the smoke in the breeze. There is an airplane light in the top right too. I was by the road and across a canal. |

That's too close for comfort! Hopefully you didn't start the fire just for a DPC shot. Say, you're not ArtROFLMAO, are you?? Good shot. |
