This is Burt, a homeless man from Vancouver's downtown. I met him while shooting for the street photography challenge, and talked with him for a good half an hour before I got around to taking some photos. He was a very friendly man, and didn't seem too upset about his position in life. He is waiting to hear back about a job as a painter, and has faith that he won't be on the street for long. The scar on his forehead is from getting stabbed in the face a couple of months ago - he is very lucky to be alive, and even though he is on the street, he is thankful that he isnt dead.
I wanted to submit this as my street photography entry, but all the talk about homeless people not being true street style scared me off. It should be another 6+, hopefully it does well here.

I should have gone ahead and entered this in the street challenge... but, both did ok, so I cant really complain.
On a happy note, the 6 streak continues! 5 in a row, hopefully I can keep this one rolling along... |

I love this photo. I think it's underrated. But then, I just love photography like this. I always try to talk to the people too who seem approaachable. He certainly does have a desperate look on his face tho, doesn't he! Great work!
