 Modern drainage has turned the fenland of East Anglia into fertile farmland, but centuries ago it was very different. At Wicken Fen the flooded marshland of previous times has been recreated and I've tried to capture this cold and foreboding winter landscape.

I can't BELIEVE that this only scored a 5.7!!! UHGG! These voters are the most unpredictable bunch I've ever seen. When I first saw this image, and faved it, I just presumed it was one of the really well liked ones that had gotten in the top ten or whatever. If you ask me, it looks exactly the type of thing that gets ribbons here. I thought the voters liked this kind of stuff... but nooo. Well, enough ranting. :) This is so lovely and haunting. It reminds me of an epic film or something. Your composition is glorious, the colors, tones, and the mist splendid. Fabulous shot. Worthy of at least a 7.5! :)

Miles, nice shot, you've certainly captured a bleak atmosphere.

I agree with Posthumous' comments - it really does look like waves on a shoreline.

That is a very interesting photo and would make a lovely print. By Iceni, I assume you suggest the East of England, East Anglia? If so, your photo certainly is aptly titled. 9.
