No ice here in NorCal, so had to use my imagination. Took my wife's earrings, put them in a small bowl of broken ice cubes, and shot them with my 100mm macro and all 3 extension tubes (64.5 mm total). Had to work fast, since it was overcast and about to rain, the ice was melting, and I had to use manual exposure (old lens) by trial and error. Had a lot of trouble keeping the condensation off the diamonds; you can still see it in this shot, but not as much as in some of the others. Not expecting a lot from this entry, and probably should rethink whether to submit it at all, but, hey, I shot it, its all in fun, so lets give it a ride and see how she goes!

NIce one, keeping the diamonds dry would have bumped it up a notch for me as well as a touch more contrast and brightness. 6 |
