NOt sure about this. I like some elements. (slight window reflecton, clock on the wall reading 5 after 7) but it has no pop no wow factor. mainly disapointed that I missed when she was sweeping in the front of the store.would have been a stronger pic

Neither art nor crap, but a nice sepia.

Pretty much my thought.....

Thanks to everyone who gave input and insight. Last night while I was playing with these images a good friend remarked that he liked all the pictures I had taken except this one. "It didn't speak to him." Like a mother lioness defending a cub I went at him for over an hour ....... (That will teach him to give and honest opinion) The more I looked at the pic the more flawed it became and the more dissatisfied with my burgeoning progress as a photographer I became.

I sent this to the forum under the title "is this Art or Crap" not only for validation but strong and honest guidance. Even if that guidance was "yes crap but nice saturation" or something like that.

so to all that offered criticism and advice....

Thank you very much for your generosity of sprit and time.

As for my friend I apologized today. He understands I'm nutz ;)

I like this shot overall. The sepia tone adds a nice old timey warmth to it. Perhaps if you cropped in closer on the person. Don't worry about the reflections.

I like this shot on a lot of different elements, the crop, the chairs, the lights all work well together. The reflections are at a minimum and even with her in the back it's just as powerful to me having been the closing person in many a small business and having to clean up at the end of the shift. I also like that the focus is in the shop and not on the window lettering, excellent DOF for this shot. And the sepia tone is perfect for this kind of shot.

Art or crap? ART!!! Well done!
