 Many thanks goes out to my 7 month old Shih Tzu, Lexie. She is a great model with an immense amount of patience. This is one of the few shots I got with her eyes open. I guess I was taking too long that she fell a sleep during the photo shot. I really love this shot and I hope everyone else does too.


POST: Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I really loved this photo and my puppy did well. You won't be seeing her any time soon because I unfortunately trimmed her bangs and now she doesn't look so good. I am very happy with my first personal best. There are sooooo many great photos out there. Especially the B/W ones. I debated about doing this one in B/W but really loved the warm glow of the color. Thank you!

As a beginner I am having a wonderful time looking at truly remarkable photo's. This photograph is certainly a beauty. Having bought the same camera as you have, I can only hope that some day I can become half the photographer that you are.

Woohoo!! Top 20!!! Great finish in this large challenge! A real stand-out image with a lots of character and strong emotion. You should be very proud of this one! My favorite in this challenge!

Absolutely gorgeous lighting and texture! The little dog is gorgeous too and is being the perfect model. I like the catchlight in the eye as well.

Such a nice low key photo! The mood fits the low key theme. Great blacks and warm colors in the dog with good details and composition. Very artistic and appealing. A winner for sure!

not too many animal photos in low light turn out well, but this is definitely an exception to the rule. I love the golden look, the light in the eyes, a really nice photo... beautiful pet also :) 10
