A mill wheel in Bawburgh, Norfolk, UK. The plaque reads:

This millstone was removed from Bawburgh Mill after its closure in 1968, ending 800 years of milling on the site. It has been erected in its present position by this family, in memory of CLIFFORD WARMAN resident miller for many years who died on 6th January 1991.

I enjoy places that save their history like this for future generations. This works very well in black and white.

Too bad they had to remove it from the mill but a nice way to continue to pay tribute to all it's hard work.

I have visited Norfolk many a time in the past. This is a touching - interesting - description and photo. Millstones, with their worn surfaces and connection to the food of life (bread) are special icons. I wonder if you can get a little closer and get the texture of the stone and defocus some of the background.

So let me get this straight, the millstone is 800 years old? I will assume not but having a working mill for 800 years is impressive. Good capture of the stone.
