This really is a "Free Study" photograph. Shooting wrestling is not quite as easy as some might think. Being inside a gym, awful lighting, intense action, bad angles, etc, make this a type of sports photography that requires great study to learn how to take good wrestling shots. To me this is the most challenging type of photography and the most challenging sport to photograph.

| an amazingly difficult sport to photograph - I haven't seen it done much better than this. I'm not sure how you could do better - having been at "mat-side" shooting - I know how hard it is to convey what these guys truly go through - certainly worthy of a magazine or newspaper publication - I've shot far less of photos of wrestling that have been published! |
