Well, I just moved to Oklahoma from Canada...not the best timing in light of this challenge! :oP So, naturally, I had to come up with something else. Then, of course, I was thinking in terms of low key lighting because of the other challenge, so this is what came about. The model was shot on a chaise longue covered with a black drop cloth with a big window behind it, and another smaller window in front and to the right.

This was one of my favorites in this challenge. I like what you accomplished with low key here, and it is good to see that someone has a grasp of that technique. Beyond that, your placement of the curves inside the frame give this one a terrific composition that grabs the eye and leads it through the frame, almost as if hands were massaging. The placement of the ice near the center of the frame also gives the eye a nice focal point and leaves no doubt that the spirit of the challenge was indeed met. Congrats on your highest score to date. This one was well-deserved and I am sure that there are higher ones to come. I like your take on the human form and the way you present and offer that to the rest of us. To grow the vote, I think I might have left a little more negative space at the top of the frame. While the composition is suiting, I think a more traditionally sized image may have done a bit better. Nice work.

Thanks, Hassan. :o) I agree with that completely, but due to the basic editing rules, I was unable to do so. :oP I may play around with it some now that the challenge is over, though.

first let me start saying congrats on your high placement and on your average. as for this shot there is nothing really to comment on, everything was done superbly, lighting, composition etc...

I like the lighting, but would've preferred less random moisture. I think having the melted water solely around the ice cube would've been more striking. 7

Nice lighting of this image. It has nice shape and almost a landscape form to it.

nice clean processing - great use of directional lighting to emphasize the diagonals.

edited to add - even more impressive now that i know it was a self portrait. impressive that you were able to balance the ice and release the shutter.

she looks a tad dirty. the light could totally be better....maybe from behind her? opposite the camera....

Nice curve of the body. Not sure if I like the piece of ice. Might have used a bigger piece.
