An old wooden box that I got at a flea market (the "world's longest yard sale") and an abacus that i've had lying around for years...
Image details: 47mm focal length, -1.0 ev, shot on a tripod, single light source off to the side. Raw conversion in Aperture v1.5.2, monochrome (0, 0, 100) and sharpen (0.75), crop, export as .jpg (full res) -> photoshop 7.0, downsize to 630 pixel width, USM (200%, 1.0, 0), 10 pixel border, save for web (98%) |

i like the use of found objects, but only wish the composition were more enticing. the low-key nature and technical parts are great. |

I obviously do not know much about low key shooting but I like the use of black and white here. I did not get to vote on this during the challenge, but the only thing that I cannot put together is the abacus and the wording on the box? i would have forgone the box and tried a black background to absorb the shadow from the light. Personally, I think your lighting here is excellent! |
