 I know, I know, ANOTHER flower image! SORRY, but this one was simple too good not to share.

I was in search of tulips in Karen's garden and found this by accident!

Adjusted contrast and exposure, cropped, masked the rose and stem to the left, desaturated everything else, slightly desturated the rose, sharpened, resized for web, resharpened, reduced noise and added a simple border.

I like the desat on the rose but IMHO the green stem detracts a little. It is distracting to my eye.

This is pretty, but I find the green stem a little distracting. It draws my eye away from the beautiful rose.

I'm sure you've heard this already, BUT...I wish you had destated that stem, it's way too distracting. When I put up my hand to block it out, the overall photo is very beautiful and the focus is very nice. You should do this again, just leave out the green.

The rose is lovely and detail is superb. Not quite clear on why the one stem was kept green.

Nice use of selective desat works well with the pic although the BW could use some contrast

Sometimes selective desat bothers me because it draws too much attention to processing for my tastes. But it really works here, and I do love the rich, vibrant colors.. I think this would be perfect for the cover of a greeting card, or an e-card... you should call some people and maybe they'd want it! I am a tiny bit distracted by the droplets on the rose but that's a very small nitpick.
