My first attempt at using a Dslr, borrowed a Nikon D50 from the school and had a load of fun with it. I am absolutely blown away at the quality of the images, and embarrassed at my previous shots in comparaison. My boyfriend's family pulled off the road so I could take photos of these horses while we were driving home. Taken from a fair distance away from the car window 250 mm. I love this camera, when I have to buy one for school I might look into a Nikon. Hopefully voters will have their monitors calibrated or else they'll lose the detail on the left side.
Editing: adjusted levels, cropped, upped the saturation, sharpened, dodged/burned in some details, and cropped a stray piece of grass that was a bit distracting.
I hope this doesn't get slaughtered! I see some trouble up ahead from those that insist the ears be in the shot. The fence cut them off, and the other shot I have with them in isn't nearly as good in my opinion. I'm not sure if they'll like the viewpoint through the fence either. I tried a cropped version without the fence, but this is just more interesting to me. |

| I love the expression and detail in the horse's face, but the shot could've really benefitted from having the blurry gray areas on the left and bottom cropped out. |
