I like the use of different color onions, and your background. It's a bit out of focus though.

These definately have a strong scent! I think this shot could have been improved by better focus, possibly a sharpen. It would have been better on a solid surface or in a basket maybe.... Lighting seems good.

Really, uncut onions don't have that much of a scent.

I'm going to assume the apparent blur is deliberate, a soft focus sort of thing, seeing as how challenge overlapped this one and all. It's sort of interesting, although I suspect I would find it more so if the onions were on a somewhat more kitcheny or cuisine-related background; I don't normally find onions on velvet. A basket, maybe (possibly atop the current backdrop), or even if the onions had been strung together as they sometimse are... as is, it's sort of unsatisfyingly overly arty.

Nice arrangement and composition. A tripod is a wise investment. The camera shake in this picture makes it less pleasing to view than it would have been if it was in sharp focus.

Fits the challenge nicely. The arrangement of the onions could be improved for a better composition. Lighting can be improved to, in this case the light seems to be coming from a single source. This underexposure might have caused the whole photo to be out of focus.
