This, I must say, is usually a surprise! The occurrence that this type of news would be announced this way though, is a little beyond what I am ready to believe.

The way you have stages your image situated it long after the original astonishment. I would fist have to recover from such news for a while before thinking of taking my ring off...

The good point of this image is you are telling us a story that will keep us wondering for a while. And there are not many entries this week that will do that.

Technically, the background is a little dull and the more than soft focus does not add to this imageâs appeal. You would have been better off, I think, capturing the phone hand held (to situate the scene at the âsurprise momentâ) and having the message occupying more of the composition.

Hope this helps,
All the best, JJ

Very!! Shocking!! now lets talk abot the image:) when using a constant background even the littlest items can distract...like the speck just to the left of the ring. also the shadow cast from the light source is way to strong...maybe a second to camera left would have helped balance the light...hope this helped:) good luck!

YIKES! That would the shocking! The idea is excellent but the exacution of the shot leave me wanting. The numbers on the phone are blown out and not very clear. There is also some noise in the shot. A 6

Yes, that would be quite a surprise! I'd like to see the look on John's face, actually that is missing, or a gesture of his hand as he drops the phone. This pictures is very static for a surprise. Having the ring next to the phone is a nice touch tho'

I guess that happens....keeping it in the family. lol. Good idea for the challenge. Not too crazy for the material this is sitting on and the focus is somewhat soft with harsh light. I do like the composition.

I love the idea and the portrayal. One question though -- if it is a woman leaving her husband for his father --why the man's wedding ring? From the ring I get the idea that it is one guy leaving another guy for the father. This in no way affected the outcome of the score I gave you. Just a personal thought. The picture and the idea behind it (which ever scenario one chooses to think) is great. Good luck!

whoa ... that poor guy! haha

Composition could be better, a nice flat background would look better. The lighting on the phone buttons are a little harsh and reflect too much light, focus is a little off.

Nicely done. Focus on the phone could be a little crisper maybe though.
