Have you ever seen something and thought it was pretty, then took the shot, and were dismayed at how it turned out?

That's what happened here...Not as pretty as it seemed when I took it...I was so disappointed with this shot that I already did the post processing...it's quite different! I can't wait until I can post it...wow, the powers of Photoshop!

My in camera settings were +2 saturation and contrast...but they didn't do much.

this is a great shot. when it's processed, it'll be amazing! start with a mulitply layer ofr the sky, to bring out the clouds, with a bit in the foreground to darken it. you'll wnat to bump up the saturationa ibt too. those clouds are fab indeed.

I find that happens a lot with me. What I see in my head doesn't necessarily match what I see on my screen. Yes, frustrating. However, I think this has a great deal of potential to be a really nice photo. You have some nice lines happening and an interesting sky. Lots to work with. You say you've already pped it. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Great leading line. This has a great deal of potential. I imagine with some warming and highlighting this is quite superb.

Yes, happens to me a lot - but as you say, post processing does wonders sometimes! The basic composition is very pleasing and it looks as though you have enough light to work with so I do imagine the processed version is quite different. Did you try tonemapping it?

I seem to find the same thing when I take images of open plains like this. I think you will be able to bring out a great deal more pop by adjusting the hue/saturation and fixing the levels in PS.

The major issue I see with this and other images like this is that I don't see a specific focal point. It's a nice landscape, but what is it in the image that is suppose to draw me in?

it's a nice scene, a little underexposed maybe

a beautiful scene and i love your composition .. and yes it happens to me all the time, i see something and photograph it and its not wot i saw and often a great disappointment ... of course that's where photoshop can come to the rescue !!... altho sometimes nothing will save a photograph ...
and anyway lisa this unprocessed version looks pretty good to me .. i love the lines the tractor or wotever has made in the pasture and the silhouette on the top of the hill ... it an excellent photograph ... i'm looking forward to seeing the processed one now ..

What beautiful clouds. I can tell what you saw when you looked at this landscape from the photo. The lines are great! I can't wait to see your post process! :)
