| Difficult to strike a balance between the obscuring of detail and the amount of grain, and to second guess the voters on that count; to my eye, you've gone a little too far - and perhaps your choice of subject isn't particularly suited to the style. Although the grain adds some5hing to the sense of texture in the stone, it also, particularly in the sky area, becomes plainly just noise patterns rather than a particular enhancement. For myself, I think I would have tried to fill the frame with this image, which would give the advantage of only affecting the sense of stone. |
