this is the original ..

i'm thinking after doing the processing that i'd prefer the original with a bit of noise ninja and a vignette !!!
didnt stop at ninja and vignette, but this is another process ..

not happy with result of either but these are the processing steps for this one ..
processed thru RAW once and overlayed raw file over original jpeg .. erased raw file at 30% opacity to allow some of original image thru ...
adjustment layer in hue/sat overlay at 16% ..
adjustment layer in hue/sat and desaturated some colours and saturated others .. then erased in adjustment layer so i got the desaturated look in the middle distance trees, but kept the saturated look in the foreground ..
resized ... did noise ninja and then selectively erased ninja so it didnt affect the reflection .. smart sharpen and erased so it didnt affect the middle distance trees .. selectively sharpened some of the reflection ... border ... saved for web ...

I am intrigued by the contours of the land here where the road goes thru the bank. I like the way you took the color out of the trees with this one, which puts more attention on the shape of the ground in the center of the image.
Where the blue sky meets the trees, the edges seem a little hard with the blue being so saturated, and the limbs so light at that point. I am not exactly sure about how it works, but just saying what I am seeing without candy coating it. : )
Love the way the tan soil and reflection split at the center so that it looks like a fallen tree trunk at first glance, and you accented that with the pp.
It's a very "bush country" looking image with the rural roadway and water.
