This is a stunning portrait and I could really care less that it's not of a person. Hopefully you won't get hammered for it. I love the color and the focus, and perhaps most particularly the shape of the catchlight in the eyes. I almost want just a tad more detail in the shadow area; I think it would add some depth to the overall engulfing darkness. Nice crop, however and beautiful subject. Good job. |

Out of the 46 portraits I've rated so far, this is the best animal portrait I've seen. |

DOF needs to be deeper to get his nose and ears in focus also |

I'm sure you'll get slammed cause it's a dog. DPCers have fussed about pets, but man, that is awesome and it is a portrait in my book. Great eyes. The focus and detail - spot on. 8 from me. |
