this photograph was taken at 1600 iso coz i was thinking of image grain challenge ...

this is the original ...

this is my first edit ...
processing steps with image ... i ended up not being that happy with this one because i feel i'd changed proportions too much and noise ninja had obliterated the details too much .. all of which i didnt realise till much later ...

so i decided to do another edit .. which is the one open now ... i like how the sleepers are not quite horizontal ... but the border might'v taken over a bit ..
these are the processing steps ...
didnt process in RAW .. started from original jpeg ...
brightness/contrast adjustment layer ..
hue/sat adj layer increased the saturation in the reds, yellows and greens then made opacity 54% ..
did kubota sloppy border ..
did a replace colour on the border to change it from black to brown to match image ..
filled the white areas of the border with a creamy colour that i picked from image ..
did a vignette on the border only ..
did another vignette on the inside image ..
did adjustment layer in levels to give the border a more metalic look and erased most of it from the inside image ..
flattened or merged layers ...
increased the canvas height and selected the upper half of image and scaled up 15% in height ...
created a black border around sloppy border .. (then went back and deleted it after it'd been in dpc a few hours) and added a high pass at maybe 50% which i erased from everything but border and opaqued a bit .. did usm .. resized ... did smart sharpen but erased from border ... did selective sharpening on grass ... saved for web ...

I like the color noise in this one - adds nicely to it for some reason. I also like the black and white version, too.
