I was trying to captute this womderful landscape without people crossing infront, but this was the third one who passed, using their cellular phones.
I am happy that you opened this topic as more people would see how many precious moments we miss.
I hope that this girl's SMS was nature inspired! huh...

First impression: Strong landscape

Composition: I like the high position of the peaks but feel that there is too much in the foreground. Including a little more of the sky and a little less grass I think would work better. Also, because of the direction the girl is walking, I think it would have been better if she was walking into the frame rather than out of it.

Exposure: Seems right in most places though some parts of the cliff and the sand along the path seems a bit bright.

Impact: The strength of the cliffs is where I feel the impact of the image is coming from. I think more impact could be obtained by not cropping so close to the peak on the left. A lower angle may add to the impact as well.

Remember, this is just one opinion.

I'm not really fond of people walking out of there photos, but I think the caption saves you (at least with my interpretation of it).

Maybe she's taking a photo?

love the idea. The pic doesn't quite pull it off for me, and I'm not sure why.

If you'd had the chance to take this when the subject was on the right hand side of the frame, with a slightly less cluttered background immediately behind them?

Location? Looks like parts of southern Utah.
Good story here, someone oblivious to the beauty around them. Highlight on the cliff seems blown, but makes an interesting contrast to the person in black in the opposite corner.

Your main picture is the mountian in the back and the title has nothing to do with a phone. I think you have it backwards. You should have focused in on the phone and let the background be out of focus.

Sad but true how many times I've found myself in this position

The cellphone is lost to the great background.
