This is the first time I have ever done a "formal" portrait session with my Dad. He was extremely cooperative and has such strong character in his face. I took a number of images with him looking at the camera and the very last shot I took was him looking off into the distance. I liked that one the best.

Ya, well it turns out that I don't care for the false eye color either. I should have trusted my instinct and left the eyes alone :(

I really dont care for the false eye color... if that's the case. 5

Nice lighting and focus. I'm not crazy about the angle of the shot -- looking up his nostrils.

shooting up one's nose is generally frowned upon, and I agree with that rule (not a rule really, more of a guideline) - and the eyes need to be about 70% less artificial green. A little color there goes a long way.

I think the eyes are overdone here compared to the rest of the portrait

I love the angle of this. I think his eyes are over-processed.

I like the angle and the thoughtful expression, but you may have taken the saturation on the eyes a little too far. They don't look natural (maybe it's just my monitor). Otherwise, it's a very nice shot.

I am not so mad about the lighting here or the low angle

This is a good photo, but when I picture great photos of older people, I always see them in black and white. Unfortunate that this had to be a color photo, eh?
