My husband, who hated posing, but cracked me up by saying earnestly, "You know I'm an underwear model, not a regular model." Those are his eyes, for real. Never touched them.
Outdoors, in his shop, in the shade.
Cropped.
Adjusted brightness and contrast.
Adjusted saturation.
Added border.
Resized.
Resized again.
Resized again $#!%!$#&%$!
Got some advice, and resized again.

Maxine, congrats on your PB! The eyes are captivating here and I really like the texture contrasts. Way to go!

It's a really nice shot. Yes, darkening the top of his head would help. But congrats on your new personal best! :)

I never voted on this because I was "thumbnail voting" and its beauty only appears in full size. Well done.

The eyes were definitely the first thing I noticed on this - pleased to see that they aren't photoshopped (though they didn't look it to me.) Good lookin' guy you got there, too! At first I wasn't thrilled with the background, but the more I look at it, the more I think it adds to the shot, and fits. Nice work!

a lovely image, and a loving image. i agree with heida - toning down his pate would make all the difference. it does rather attract the eye, as it's the lightest thing in the shot.

Wonderful shot. I hope this does well. I like the detail in his skin and gotte (beard). Good luck.

its such a touching title I love that :)
It would maybe have been a good idea to hold a black carton or something over his head so the top of his head wouldnt have been overexposed otherwise nice portrait :)

A tad over-sharpened for me; but a good expression, and a great character.

nice close up intimate portrait.
To make the shot even stronger taking the highlights of the top of his head would help, and cloning out the row of screwheads(nailheads?). The vertical stripes behind him also give an impression of the poor chap being in prison.
lol.

good color. His chrome doom is a bit too shiny; cropping the top off about 10 to 30 pixels above his upper most forehead wrinkle (on his left side) would enhance your photo quite a lot.

I like the sharpness of the image, although I'm not sure I care for the background though. Or maybe you just needs some shallow DOF. Nice portrait though!
