| The eye is too central in the shot for my liking, I would have cropped a little from the left hand side to place the eye on the left third. Also I do not believe this to be soft focus, it appears to be a shallow depth of field as the eye is "in focus". |

| I would have given this a higher mark had the eye been softly focused. Normally this would have been a great photo because of the sharpness in the eye, but the challenge is for softness. Still really like this photo! 8/10 |

| Your title is fun. This seems to me to epitomize what it means in the challenge rules...the soft surround to bring out the subject - in this case the (lovely) eye. |

Good avoidance of the nasty soft filter treatments!
Nice focus and fairly good composition, but it may have been improved by off-setting the face further left and creating some nice clean space to the right. The background does look a little messy. |

| lovely shot, but it seems more like use of shallow DOF than soft focus (but it could be the sleepiness getting to me). nonetheless, i like it - stunning clarity |
