This was taken on a partly cloudy day and the sun was behind the clouds at the time. It was also taken through a chain link fence on the backstop, behind home plate. I just started taking sports images so know I need more practice. I also, just started using the f2.8 70-200 IS lens, yesterday being the first day. So, I am getting used to that as well.

Hello madcrabber,
Over all I like the shot. Color, depth of field, details are all nice and sharp. There is one thing here that needs addressing. The bottom of the photo, The pitchers plant foot abrutly ends the photo he has know where to go on the follow through. This gives us the (OPTICAL) sense that he is either going to hit a wall or diappear from the game. If we included more of the mound giving his follow through foot someplace to land this would complete the scene you are trying to capture. If you have trouble understanding what I am convaying here e-mail me and I will explain further

Great timing! Meets the challenge as both "pop culture" and a national pasttime - in more than one country.
