this is the unedited version ...

these are my editing steps ...
opened as jpeg ...
cloned out polariser imperfections upper right and left hand side of image ..
levels adjustment layer to lighten the ground and erased that effect in the sky using the pen/brush tool with black foreground colour .. if you erase something by mistake then change the foreground colour to white and 'paint' area you want the adjustment layer to effect ...
did another levels adjustment layer to darken the sky and intensify the yellow hue and erased most of that effect on the ground ...
resize ..
did noise ninja and erased from trunks of trees and those excellent dead branches of the closer tree and the foreground pasture ..
smart sharpen and erased the effect from the areas that i particularly wanted the noise ninja to effect ..
did a selective sharpen ...
border and saved for web ...

Thanks for sharing the workflow. Beautiful processing and colors. The whole shot reminds me of one of those old-time postcards.

roz, I absolutely love the colors in your sky. You've achieved a kind of watercolor effect, and it's quite beautiful. I'd be interested in knowing how you accomplished a couple of things in your work flow. How did you erase NN? And, what do you mean by selective sharpen? Do you mean you selected an area and then sharpened?
