I really like this...love the life outside...has an early Sunday morning feel...I didn't vote on this, but scrolling through I like this one best...
simple and very effective...
I am tired of reading comments like the one that states the upper right is distracting..from what, you aren't drawn to it...I think this type of comment comes from people hanging out on this site too long, looking for ways to express their knowledge...
well look at me going on like I know something, when I could have just said "cool shot" and moved on...

cool shot...

B&W was a good choice. The OOF background works really well too! Good luck!

You got a few good details in the image. Not only is the Starbucks pop culture but so isn't the cell phone. What would really have brought this one over the top is if the two folks walking would have been two guys. That would definitely catch much of what is happening today. Anyway, 7 because it is a bit pixelated and I don't score much above 8 anyway.

This reminds me of the "fake miniature" technique - a really nice use of gradual blur in the background building to punch out the foreground. The couple walking away appear to be stepping off into a different reality.

I've looked at this several times and the same thing hits me each time. The Starbucks storefront portion of the photo is spot on. The inclusion of the pedestrians is also a nice addition, but the very bright upper right hand corner of the image is very distracting and pulls attention away from these great elements.

So true, so true, I ran a 10K last weekend & passed 4 of them. I love the contrast in this picture.

Not here there isn't! (Well, OK, maybe in Frankfurt.) Can't live without 'em, though. Well, OK, I can, but would rather not. I like that you found one with a coffee cup - I've not seen that before. Be judicious in your use of blurring in the background or you can unintentionally approach making the scene look miniaturized.

looks like we had the same idea - I like your b&w treatment and the people add an interesting element... hard to know what to do with the building in the background - as it's so light it detracts a bit -- leaving it in let you keep the people so it's a trade off.
