Black and white was perhaps a strange choice, but I like it.

Well lit inside the hands but a bit too gloomy outside. The background to the right does nothing for the composition in my view and this may well have been improved by cropping tight and making it portrait.

I like the subtle lighting (is it really all from the candle?)

Bad points: mmm, thanksful for warmth is a bit naff to me. And a candle doesn't really give off much warmth and thus isn't symbolic of the term 'warmth'
Good points: nice exposure, nice and clean. Technicaly very good. Although would like to see more exposure on the hands.
Overall Score: 5

This is my favorite picture, I hope to see a blue ribbon next to it next week.

Lighting is lovely and overall I love this shot. Just wondering though is colour might have given it a warmer feel, in line with the title (very minor critism though). great shot.

Good photo. Excellent exposure & toning. Interesting subject and composition, good job on the lighting; I especially like it how you chose a shutter time that didn't let the candle flame blow out the highlights of itself and its surroundings. The detail within the hands is therefore very good.
This would perhaps also do very good in a 1:1 aspect ratio. Nice scene for a Medium Format camera.

Warmth is certainly something for which one can be grateful! Especially today when it's 14 degrees outside! The supplemental lighting here (not the candle) is quiet and very, very effective. Candle is good, too, of course. This still may be just a tad dark, but I really like it.

Beautiful lighting technique you have used here. I especially like it because it is certainly different and very creative. B&W works very well here too! Excellent shot and good luck in this weeks challenge.
