This is my daughter Ellie, who has been putting up with all week long taking different shots, different angles, different lights and this is from the last batch I took. She is extremely patient and I'm the only one allowed to take her picture. I will post some of the non-chosen shots after the challenge is over.

This is outside, across the street, Cropped it, resized it, played with the color just a tad, cleaned it just a tad and used the gentle breath of the lens for the soft effect.

I have to be honest, I hated this challenge because to me a soft effect just looks fuzzy and out of focus and it drove me nuts to leave that element in there. I probably won't do well with this challenge at all but it's been a learning experience for sure.

I've learned that I do not/will not ever do soft focus again with out the proper filter and I can learn to appreciate the subtle art of it! :)

unfortunately, the graininess of this photo decreases the overall quality

Pretty young lady but the scene is a little too cluttered (wispy hair, leaves, bark) and takes attention away from her

A sweet portrait. Nice use of soft focus, works nicely on the wisps of her hair, it feels a bit intensely soft on her face, I'd like to see her a bit more clearly. I like your choice of the bark for the background - I'd crop on the left to remove that bit of grass it is distracting.

The soft focus is well done, but there seem to be some noise and artifacts here that seriously detract froom the image
