Don, just when I count on you to produce purely art shots, you go and enter something *I* might take. :) I think this is great, and it's nice to see your face! |

The arm holding the camera always makes a good leading line. :)
A great picture though, I love the different light streaks in the photo. It really creates a sense of depth.
I can't believe how young you look, must be some time-reversing carousal.

Don't know how you did this with a shutter speed of 1 sec without a tripod. Excellent job. This should have easily been over 6. Cool poem. Don't know what it means but still cool. |

love this shot, the focus is spot on, there is something in the eyes that draws you in. to me on the Laptop i am viewing this on it seems a little bit noisy, so i would run through neat image but nice effort. |

Greetings from the Critique Club!
A great photo. The curve-blurred background gives a definite impression of spinning very fast, and the gaze fixed squarely on the viewer provide a strong focal point. The smirk provides interest. The stripes in the shirt contrast nicely with the lines in the background, and lead the eye to the face, and the sweater keeps them from being overbearing.
I'm guessing you used a flash to avoid motion blur on the face, and it works well. Except it is a bit bright, washing out the right side. The rest of the face is great; the form shows well. And the catchlights in the eyes are perfect.
The composition works well, although I personally like just a bit cropped off the left side. I also think it could use just a bit more sharpening. But these are both personal preferences; the photo is fine as is.
In a perfect world, I'd want to get rid of the really bright streak in the background. It's distracting. And the right arm is blurred, but what can you expect from a 1 second exposure? But certainly neither of these ruin the photo.
Overall, very well done. I enjoy this photo. |

You look like you're about 12 or 13 years old in this shot. OK, maybe 16. Quite like it. |

Definitely a book cover photograph. Did skewness skewsme help with the makeup and hair?

heehee, you look dizzy. I love the effect here, I only feel like there should be a bit more grain or perfectly smooth. It's kinda in the middle here. I would say crop it more on the right, but I can tell you were trying to keep in that segment of background, so nevermind :)
Nice shot! |

All you brave people spinning and taking shots. My equilibrium is shot now. This looks like an SP to me and you managed to keep yourself in focus while at the same time using the background to indicate movement. Nice job on the steadiness lol. Good luck! |

Nice photo. I wonder if more contrast couldn't have been used here to help sharpen up the image just a tad. |

i like the graininess of this image, and even the expression. cropping off the top of the head was unfortunate, but overall a very nice entry. |
