I wasn't going to enter this challenge, but I came home to a beautiful afternoon, I could almost feel a stillness in the air & had to capture the moment. The only editing done was some contrast & unsharp mask.

Hi kelly!! I am going to attempt a helping hand here :)

The first thing I noticed is your DOF. If you are shooting a landscape like this, try a critical f8 or f11. It will pull the whole street into focus.

Second thing is the really bright whites. Set your ISO to 100 and adjust around it.

A little advice from someone going through it herself: always shoot at least 20 shots... 10 with your f stop at 8 and various shutter speeds and 10 with your f stop at 11 with various shutter speeds.

In photoshop CS, if you want to add a lovely border, try the image>canvas size option or make a selection with the rectangular marquee and do edit>stroke. That will get rid of those comments but does little else.

I hope this helps :)

I'm not sure you're allowed to do such a frame in Basic Editing but I like the image itself.

I can feel the emptyness... Where have all the people gone! Nice.

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2. The conversion really made what I would think to be an ordinary photo into something really nice. Like your choice of border...7
