I really wish this wasn't a basic editing challenge because the shot that I had in my mind needed to be fixed. I have one of them that I edited but it still wasn't the shot that I wanted. I had this awesome picture in my mind but I just couldn't get it out of my head and into the camera. I think that I will get a lousy 4+. If I get anything over a 5 I will be VERY surprised. I'm just not that happy with this shot and I'm crunched for time. Anyway that's just my thoughts. Guess we'll see what happens here.

Here was what I did to the image.
Levels RGB 12- .86- 251
Levels Blue, 11- .82- 247
Color Balance Midtones, +2, -25, -12
Selective Colors, Red up
Brightness and Contrast
Blur
USM
Resize
SFW

Oh and BTW, I bet I get a lot of "this is blurry crap" well yes I know it's blurry. I wanted the child to be. As for the ball, HELLO it's spinning. Of course it's blurry. Okay let’s see who just doesn’t get it...

Here is the (Advanced edited) version of the shot. I just couldn't use this one because it of all the cloning I had to do.

I do think this would be better if the kid was in more focus...

I like the blur of this photograph, and the little boy in the background showing what is about to happen. However, there could be a little more contrast to the image.

I just wish that part of your image was in focus. I like the spinning ball, but the boy in focus IMO would have been better.

Awesome concept! I love it - too bad though the focus could not have been grabbed a bit more towards the front of the ball, towards the viewer.

Great idea. The tilted frame just helps to add more to the sense of motion, same with the blur.

Hope your camera is still in one piece :)

i really like this idea, but with the ball spinnig and shallow DOF everything looks blurred. I hate to make a criticism with out a suggested fix, but I can't put my finger on it. Still a nice shot though!

It'd be nice is something was in sharp focus - the ball's out due to motion blur and the batter from DOF; leaves nothing to focus on.

Nice idea, but too much blur for me. Choose the subject to focus on the batter or the ball. probably in this case the batter to let the ball still be able to spin in the photo.
