 I took a trip with my camera club to the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC on March 24th. I have had several past challenge entries with subjects from this site. Trains and railroads are themes that I keep going back to over time. I tend to see something different almost every time I look at these subjects. In my humble opinion, these close-up views provide an insight to why we like certain subjects. When I'm out shooting, shapes and textures tend to catch my eye faster than anything else. Since I'm a fan of black and white images, shapes and textures tend to dominate my portfolio.

I haven't entered a challenge in a long time. I'm not sure why I'm entering this one. This image isn't one that will find many fans, but it's one of my favorite of 2007 so far :)

I expected this to score much higher(I gave a 7) - I like the composition, and am impressed with your tonal range; I suspect it may work better as a print.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two three now and I'm running late, sorry.
