 This was originally just an experiment in lightpainting with coloured lights - i got hold of a pen with a built-in three-LED assembly which i can switch the colour of:

In the end though i decided to opt for the all-blue backlit one rather than any of my more complex versions, as it has the strongest composition. The idea of circling a light around a round object on a surface is of course a tribute to deapee's "Illuminate":

and the title is intended to ironically reflect this. I also tried modifying the colours in the same way deapee did for a flatter cyan look:

but decided to keep the original colouring.

The map area showing Dumfries is not chosen for any particular significance, but was simply the most interesting-looking page on the road atlas i had.

Editing: clone out pesky hot pixels, crop, bit of cloning to remove distracting minor elements on the map (specifically the word "Dumfries"), resize, sharpen.

Very good work! Nice blue and good setup. When I saw the thumbnail I was thinking you spelled the title wrong but now I see you didn't.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two three now and I'm running late, sorry.
