My mum was holding the flash and fired it from behind the fence 4 times to get the right exposure. The faces facing the camera are lit by street lights behind me in the distance. And yes - this is just a gate, with no attached fence, in the middle of a field - i have no idea why...

Rotate, Crop, B&W conversion(Gradient Map), Curves, Shadow/Highlight, Resize, NI, USM from jpg.
I would have like to be able to do some selective editing on this: clone out the highlights on the gate for one, and secondly to sharpen selectively so that i could bring the detail out on the fence whilst not seemingly over-sharpening the grass just below where the flash was. Also a bit of dodge and burn never hurt anyone did it? :P |

| Too dark. it's just too dark where you lose part the mood of the photo. I understand that its a night shot, but could be just a tad bit brighter. |
