Greetings from the Critique Club!
This was one of my favorites during the challenge. The clarity and the crispness of the overall shot really jumped out at me. A big plus in my book.
It meet the challenge on a couple of different levels in that yes, time is money and when one thinks of watches, one of the first to come to mind is the Rolex brand for the working man.
This shot is well done, composition is very nice, the extra space at the top is a good balance to the watch itself.
The negatives are very few in this shot. The glare on the right side of the watch face is a bit distracting. If the face was facing the camera a bit more so you don't get that double bubble on the top. Also the shadow on the left is a bit off for some reason, maybe because it's cut off. If you could either eliminate the shadow or include the entire shadow I feel it might complete the overall shot.
The capture of the second hand is excellent, though according to your shutter speed it's 8 seconds and from the picture it only looks like 5, LOL! :)
Again, an excellent shot overall, the composition, the lighting, the contrast are very close to perfect. : )
Good Luck In Future Challenges!

How did you get a GMT bezel on a submariner? Also looks like a battery powered one, from the way the second hand was moving. I entered a gold submariner in this challenge. |

Nice DOF. Like the long exposure. |

Technical: Fits the challenge but didn't require much thought or creativity. Exposure composition focus all good but not very imaginitive. Lighting could be diffused more to avoid hot spots.
Personal: Not compelling. More time spent thinking of a subject could have yielded a more creative photo.

Wow, an 8 second exposure ? Some shiny area's are burned out. The setup is nothing particularly special. A picture of a watch on a table, which gives me a feeling I have to tilt my head to view the watch properly. A different view, a different background might have added some more class to it, some more expression of money. |

This will work. It works on two levels. The cost of the watch and the topic. |

The second hand ticks!! On all of my Rolexes it is a sweep hand! (Could this be a fake?)
I think another background would make this more interesting. Black velvet or wite perhaps. |

Not a bad exposure. A touch oversharp but not horribly so. My biggest complaint is that you detract from the richness of the object by stealing it's richness of color.
