took so many shots, and ended with 3 good ones. This is cropped quite heavily at about 40%

Desaturated in Ps and a bit of level adjustment to give it contrast. Nothing else.

This was one of my favourites and one of my 3 tens for the challenge. Congrats on the top ten placing. Are you still using the Olympus E-20? What about your new Nikon?

rather cool

I think this would have been even better if we could see the face of the cards.
Excelent sharp shot !

Nice in the action shot. Subtle yet suspensful.

Very nice image. I like how the action is seemingly frozen. I think I may have liked it better in color.

Very interesting "floating cards" effect. Is this an illustration of second dealing for a "how to" manual for card hustlers?" Only kidding. The use of highlight and deep shadow makes this a very effective shot.

I like your catching the \"deal\" in motion, and to me, the b/w effect adds class. Excellent!

the 'Dealer' feel is very good, beautifully lit and focused, good texture, good action
and the French cuff is a nice finishing touch

Really nice use of negative space and I like the way the shirt cuff and hands are showing, but I find the shirt behind the cards distracting and wish it weren't showing. Also, it would have been nice to see both arms showing the white cuffs. If this were a staged shot, a ncie pair of colored or gold cufflinks would be good too.

may have been better with lower shutter speed in order to get a better impression of movement for the 2 cards of the foreground

The lighting here is absolutely stunning, giving a really high impact to the photo. Love it. 10

Nice use of black and white. The contrast in particular is well done.
