Great capture and dof on the chickadee. My eye keeps getting drawn to the vivid blue space left of the bird though. The open space might work better if the bird were facing in that direction but here I find it more distracting. I think I'd like a closer crop putting the bird in the bottom-right of the image. |

This is a beautiful shot of a chickadee! The texture in the feathers is sweet. The separation of the eye from it's black "cap" is hard to achieve.
However, I don't see the reason for the left half of the image. Yes it puts the bird on one of the "thirds"...but it doesn't really add to the story. If the bird were facing the other direction it would...here he's looking out of the frame. I'd rather see a centered subject than one that leads my eye out of frame. Have you considered making a crop to portrait orientation? |

I really like the composition, and the "white" of this - nice touches of white throughout, from the snow, the branches, and the bird, all set off nicely by the almost pastel blue. |
