Great angle and pose. The shallow DOF works well in this, but focus seems to be on her nose and not on her eye. Works perfect in black and white. You've got a good shot here. |

Erin, ths is beautiful! I don't know what the original grained version looks like, but seriously the grain MAKES this! Not that Tess is a stunning portrait no matter WHAT pose she's in or processing that takes place, but for this particular photo, the grain adds so much to the artistic look and feel of the photo. It's so striking, and again, she is so beautiful.
Methinks we better keep her out of the voting booth tho, huh? We have enough people here who hate anything artistic and slightly out-of-the-box, don't we? :) |

Lovely subtle light. I can't think of one picture you've posted that hasn't had beautiful, well thought-out light. This really brings out the form of her face nicely. (Thanks for the kind words. I actually don't know half as much as I should about how to light stuff, and I know even less than that than some others here.)
Edit to add: the grain is a good choice. Even more would be interesting. It might have been neat to do a quick mask gradient selection starting at her shoulder and ending almost at the right side, then adding the noise to that selection. That would have given the illusion of more grain in the darker/less focused parts of the image.
