Well, we've got some blown highlights here, but I kind of liked it anyway.

Love the look in his eyes, makes me wonder if he's thinking "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?"

Looks like he's got something on his mind. Good composition, and DOF is great. The surrounding isn't completely out of focus so it gives a setting to the shot. Also like that there's room to the left so he's not just staring out of the frame.

Thought is deep and captured well. I don't see too many blown out highlights where it matters. It's nice.

I personally don't see any blown highlights where detail would have been important. This is a great shot because of the contemplative nature of his expression...wonderful capture...; )

Lost in thought. A bit of dreaminess sown into the shallow soft focus. He looks like someone whose company I could enjoy.

I like it too, Erin! I think the blown highlights are very minimal, and the important thing is that you caught him just being a little boy, deep in thought, sucking on a lollipop. I love it. Childhood is so awesome -- and you've capture the essence of it here!

Your kids are the best little models!

His eyes are amazing..I do not think that boy could ever look bad in a photo..and with a talented mom to photograph him, there is little doubt!

Excellent Erin, it looks so natural, and emotional. Such a powerful
mood in this one.

I've always liked how you capture so many details in your portraits but they work together so well because they fade out beneath the eyes and expressions.
