It's the full moon, what else? :)

It'll look better composited against something else, but for now, this'll do.

To try this, first find your "sweet spot" - the sharpest combination of aperture and zoom you have available. For this camera, full zoom looks best at about F/5.6. Shots I took at F/7.1 aren't as sharp.

Then think of shooting something on a bright beach, because the moon is a bright, sunlit object. Manual settings are better so your camera isn't fooled into a long exposure by most of the frame being black.

Compare this with what I got with the D200, 70-200 and a 1.4 teleconverter:
