 A shot of an owl sitting in front of an old building. It is a simple shot but I like it very much; especially the contrast, the look of the owl, the clarity and the sharpness.

As this shot was taken handheld I had to push the ISO otherwise the shutter speed was too slow. NeatImage was applied to remove excessive noise. I used the level function to let the owl stand out more of the background. The 70-200mm lens was used.

a wonderful great snowy - great "look" to go with title - not sure that the crop does it a service and the window/shadow in background is a distraction

This might have been better if you had used a weak flash to produce a highlight in the eyes. Otherwise, it's a very nice image with good composition and sharpness.

Good framing & DOF.The stare is a bit too intense to fit the "Lack of expression", but still a very good shot.
