One of the more scenic spots I could think of near home.
PP - lots more than I usually do! Converted from RAW. Used PhotoImpact's HDR function to create an HDR layer, created a dupe of the original and increased saturation and contrast, dodged and burnt clouds and water, applied gradient filter to sky, merged all layers (40% transparent on HDR layer, which was pretty light). Dodged highlights on trees and burnt the bare tree in the middle foreground, cloned out spots in sky (birds, I think) and some junk on the rocks, colored the water to reflect the blue of the sky, burnt water a little, USM, resize, USM, increase saturation again. |

| Nice contrast in the foreground. Overall, a great capture of a very beautiful river. A bit blurry in the background, but that certainly could have been the plan (it *does* draw attention to the foreground). |

| Beautiful exposure, could do with a tad more contrast/saturation maybe. It's a little soft in places, but otherwise top ten work. |
