 Don't like the bubbles - cloned them out and then realised it was old rules, so put them back. Lit by two 500W halogen lamps reflected off the ceiling.
EF 28-135mm lens at 41mm.
The soup was hot and delicious!
Post processing: cropped, levels, increased saturation, USM, NeatImage to smooth and sharpen.
Camera tripod mounted, operated by laptop to avoid shake.

Technical: Most all images submitted fit the challenge. While the basic subject, soup, would fit the challenge well, for me this photograph is too busy to say "simplicity". Exposure composition focus lighting all good.

Personal: Wow, that soup looks *really* unappetizing to me. And near the spoon, is that blue from the handle bleeding into the soup itself??

This is a very nice concept, but appears to be overworked in post processing (I am not guiltless of this in my own images for sure).

It appears over sharpened with edge effects. A white halo around the blue handle is plainly visible. The deep blue of the handle and in the soup seems unnatural.

Nice concept, but the colors don't work too well IMHO - doesn't really look appetizing.

I would have liked this photo better with a more simple tablecloth. I'm losing the bowl in the plaid.
