 I am posting this self portrait because it is the first one I ever did since being a DPC member - so I want to consider this my springboard for learning and for any of you visiting - you'll get an idea for what my starting point is ...and maybe after a month of shooting my own self I'll learn something.

Wow. Your smile says "friendly and fun" but your eyes read trepidation. You did a fine job! You are very pretty! The camera likes you and these side challenges are a great way to come out of your comfort zone :) I can't wait to see more :)

I think I know you from somewhere, don't i??? Oh yes, you are that warm friendly person who is always IMing me to remind me that you are beating me in the challenges hehehehe. Very nice photo. Love your smile. I think you need to get some shots that emphasize your eyes. They look like they have a lovely color to them. I'm glad you are in the challenge - this will be fun!

Congratulations on the acrobatics sometimes necessary for a self-portrait. :) This is a nice natural portrait with a great smile, and the light is even and nice. I think it might be a tad soft, and I agree with Erin about the background. Great job.

I give a big pat on the back to anyone willing to have a go at doing a self portrait. I've tried it and it's hard! Your smile actually looks very natural here. What comes across is that you're a very friendly, approachable person. Next time I might try for a background that is more consistently toned, and either lighter than your hair color or backlighted so that the details aren't lost.
