I like this photo a lot. It would be illegal but it is a great photo. I it was legal I would have given it an 8. I like the composition and the color of the old building. It is a very striking shot. |

This would have been illegal in a challenge, but it's very striking.
There's something bothersome about the taper of the buildings though. I think this is an instance where you should try artificially expanding the taper of the perspective to straighten the verticals. It may look slightly surreal, but then this does anyway. You can do this with the free distort tool in Photoshop.
Gordon's suggestion is a nice idea but I don't think there will be enough colour in the background items to make it as dramatic as this. |

Have you tried 'inverting' the effect and doing the older style architecture as B&W/ sepia and leaving the modern stuff in colour ? |

Wow, I really like this shot. I think the juxtaposition of old and new is very obvious, and I like the color of the old building against the greyscale of everything around it.
Is this shot "DPC-legal"? |
