I think this lady on the trail where I took this shot thinks I lost my marbles taking a picture of a slug, as they are not very "esteemed" here in the Pacific Northwest. However, I have always been facinated by them and they do grow quite large up here. Rotated 90, sharpened, and resized in CS2

I realize that a slug is not an insect, but I thought what the heck, see if I can get a brown for a change...actually, I just kinda want to see the reaction more than anything I suppose...

Sorry, but I am going to have to give this one a DNMC. A slug is not an insect.

Nice idea, maybe a lower down angle to catch more of the slug's "face" would make this more interesting.

I do love the picture of the slug. I am just having a hard time seeing an insect. Not saying that it isn't there I just can't see it. Nice colors and diagonal compostion.

It looks as if the slug is getting a better look at such a pretty flower! Very nice.

I like this one. The glistening skin of the slug is nicely contrasted with the delicate petals (which it is about to eat!)

didn't know molluscs were insects (but did have to check caterpillars were before I entered!)

It's certainly a beauty, but neither the title as the photo points to an insect, although it looks if there is one somewhere.

Being a slug can be beautiful! Great shot. It is a little difficult to see the slug being dark like the background, but I find it very nice indeed

Good detail in the flowers but the slug is lost in the shadows.

Unfortunately, slugs aren't insects, although they are my favourite slimer.
