 A nesting goose on the side of a main road interested me. She was squawking at anyone that passed her. I found it funny that she was nesting so close to the road, but then figured a bit later that she was nesting there, as high up as she could get from the creek, because of the Nor-easter flooding-to-come.

So you pull off to the side of the road to shoot a duck, why wouldn't you make the duck and river the subject, instead of the road?

I feel the duck is too small and is not the obvious subject in the pic. I think that also, since the subject is a bird (and not a landscape or scenery), that the pic may be off topic.

There are a few things that need to be changed in this picture. Try an angle that will really get the goose to be the focal point. The attention needs to be the bird. Put the point of importance in an area that will stand out. Also, get rid of stray cars on the road. Wait for a time when the road is clear before taking the picture.

Alright. Gotta leave a comment ... rather boring though I get your ambition to make a statement. I think the statement is much stronger than the image. Unfortunately though, I'm judging the image and not the statement.

I like the vertical lines on the left, but the lighting is too boring to really draw me into the photo. I know you can't control when the goose stands by the road though, so I will cut you some slack! :)

I saw a ton of those geese this weekened :)
He pictures a little pale, the colours need saturating, the sky is blown out and I'm afraid it's not got enough emphasis on the only good subject. Keep at it though.
