This is my first entry as a member. I photographed these bottles of maple syrup using backlighting to highlight the shapes of the bottles. I used a dull orange bristol board for background and bounced the light off a red cloth to the background to create the backlighting. Lighting used was a small 15-watt incandescent bulb.

Post-processing: crop, levels adjustment, color adjustment, very minimal cloning of some unwanted glares, USM.

Greetings from the critique club

This is a well done image. You've captured the detail of each bottle and the lighting is very creative.

That said,,,, It is a very busy image. I think if you had made one of these bottles, or only used one, it would have been an outstanding photo.

The background is taking over. Because it is so bright from the middle down it is causing the bottles to loose their importance in the image.

There is a glare or something at the bottom left of the centre bottle.

I thnk if you redid this shot using say, the square bottle you would have something really exceptional.

and by the way,, that is a LOT of maple syrup, I'm jealous!

I hope this helps.

I like your shapes, but the photo looks a little hazy-6

Great lighting; it shows off the beauty of the bottles and makes a nice gradient background.

This is actually a very well lit and crisply taken shot, but has become very washed out and magenta-heavy. As for 'shapes' this lacks interest for me, but it has the making of a nice still life.
