What a fun outing! I went down to the river at sunrise and planted myself on a rock outcropping. The shad are currently running so there were fishermen all over the place. Traditional rod/reels, flyfishing, even saw a guy casting a net. The birds were fishing also. Herons all over, and watching the osprey dive into the water and come out with a fish was AWESOME! Geese, various ducks...fun, fun, fun. :D
I do wish I had a little longer reach than 300mm. Much of the activity seemed to be on the far side of the river.
I waffled back and forth between this shot and one of a fly fisherman "shooting a line". I like the flow of the water in this shot better and the hint of sunlight. Not really happy with the overall aspect ratio of this (cropped some off the bottom for meeting ROT) as it seems a bit narrow. Cross my fingers. :) |

Very pretty. I love the early light shining on the rocks and the trees. The cool white tones of the water help bring out the goose a little bit too. Nice! |

nice photo but the prevailing lines in this (shore of the stream) are dead center. I see the fisherman and goose close to the opposite thirds, but to emphasize them more I would have recommened cropping them a little to highlight them more - and you may have been able to get the water away from dead center |

That's an interesting composition, but I think that the DOF is too broad, leeding to a pic a bit too busy. |

Great sense of place, and moment. |

Couldn´t see the fisherman right away and actually probably never had if it weren´t for the title. |
